West Allotment got their season off and running with a dominant display at Hillheads last night and the scoreline should have been much bigger. Right from the kick off it was clear that the Whitley back line had real problems dealing with Allotments pace and creativity. Guy Bates opened the scoring on nine minutes adding his second on 24 minutes. On 35 minutes a fee kick saw the ball drop to Scott McCarthy for a tap in. Then just before half time Meeshi Kanda rounded off a nice move to smash the ball home from the edge of the box to make it four. Whitley's night then got worse as Neary got sent off for the home side.
The second half was the Giroud show as he scored two great individual goals to make the final score 6-0.
It was a complete performance from Allotment from back to front and with the prospect of some more signings things are looking good.
Allotment now turn their focus to Saturday and a very important FA Cup match away at Sunderland RCA.
