Match Report: Seaton Delaval 0-4 West Allotment Celtic

West Allotment Celtic claimed another victory in their 3rd pre-season fixture making it 3 wins from 3 so far.

Allotment looked bright from the opening whistle and took a well deserved early lead courtesy of Regan Paterson. A perfectly timed through ball left Regan through on goal and he finished it off superbly with a cheeky finish over the Seaton Delaval goalkeeper's head 6 minutes in.

The attacking intent continued throughout the first half which forced the Delaval 'keeper into some comfortable saves. Eventually, Allotment were able to find their second goal of the afternoon to go 0-2 ahead just before the half-hour mark.

Midfielder Michael Trodd's volleyed strike was hit perfectly and swerved into the top corner like a bullet. A beautiful strike leaving the keeper with no chance.

Manager Jay Bates rotated his squad around throughout the match and the first bunch of changes came 32 minutes in. Callum Carney, Dario and Graham Williams came on for Liam Beeston, Mickey and Regan Paterson. The score remained 0-2 to Allotment at the half-time interval.

Luke Parkinson came on at half-time for Marcel to occupy the left-back spot and he made an instant impact. Allotment won a free-kick in a dangerous position about 22 yards out early in the second half.

Parkinson took the free-kick and bent it with his left foot into the top corner. Again, not a whole lot the keeper could have done about it.

Allotment remained on top for the entirety of the game coming close to grabbing a fourth goal on multiple occasions. Dario had a shot after showing his fine dribbling skills which was deflected wide and Trodd also went close as he hit the post from distance. So close to another top-quality goal from Troddy.

Regan Paterson went close after 71 minutes and forced a good save from the Delaval goalkeeper. A couple of minutes later, Callum Carney went close as his header was put just over that bar.

The next Allotment chance came just moments later and unbelievably the score remained 0-3. Regan had two shots in the space of seconds, the first shot struck the post and then the next shot went wide from close range.

Eventually, Allotment were able to secure their forth goal as Regan Paterson swept in from close-range to put the ball past the Delaval goalkeeper to put Allotment 0-4 ahead with about 10 minutes to go.

West Allotment Celtic running out 0-4 winners in the end with a fine pre-season performance.
