Junior Round Up

U16 Girls

Bedlington 2 - 2 West Allotment

This was a great game played on a big new 3G pitch. The first half was goalless with Allotment trying to play on the break and get in behind Bedlington. Both Hannah D and Elethea T went close but found the Bedlington keeper in great form. Just after the restart Bedlington took the lead with a shot from outside the box which Louise in the Allotment goal got a hand too but couldn't keep it out. Allotment where playing the better football and when Hannah D sent Elethea T clear she smashed the ball high into the Bedlington net to level things up. However Bedlington again took the lead with another good finish. Allotment then had several chances with the Bedlington Keeper making a double save to keep us out. However Neave B came on as sub and changed the game winning lots of balls in midfield and then played a great through ball for Hannah D to race onto side foot the ball into the net despite the keeper and defenders best efforts.

U16 Boys

Allendale 5 - 2 West Allotment

The first half was disappointing and Allotment came in 2-0 down. After few harsh words at half time Allotment came out and battled back to 2-2. However a crunching challenge saw an Allotment player sent off and then Allendale took full advantage winning 5-2 .

U14 Girls

Bedlington v West Allotment

The first half saw Allotment find it difficult to deal with the pace of Bedlington's front line and to be fair a couple of the opening goals where very good shots. Allotment did have there chances and Macy saw her shot saved by the legs of the keeper. At half time the score was 3-0 and very early from the restart it was 4. However Allotment suddenly woke up and started to play pulling two goals back and it could have been more. One bright point was for Lizzie D scored her 100th goal for West Allotment a great achievement.

U13 Boys

Newcastle East End 1 -3 West Allotment

A tough game this morning but credit to the players for showing excellent character to come from a goal down to win.

The hosts took the lead following a good double save from Oscar, the ball finally fell to the East End striker to tuck it away.

Two good chances fell to Jake who was only denied thanks to two good saves from the East End goalkeeper.

East End forced a smart save from Oscar at the end of the first half which saw the score remain 1 - 0 at the break.

A formation change and some unfamiliar playing positions for some of the players notably Joseph playing in the back line, and Max playing up front.

Our equaliser came through some tenacious work in the middle from Thomas and Sonny, before Brandon played Jake in down the line who finished well from what looked and impossible angle on the left hand side of the box.

Allotment pushed on looking for a second and in almost an exact replica of his first, Jake lobbed the keeper from the left hand side if the box.

It was then nip and tuck for a period of time with East End searching for a equaliser, and Allotment trying to finish the game off. It was the later that prevailed with Max bursting onto a lose ball and volleying into the bottom corner from just outside the box.
