West Allotment Celtic ended 2023 on a high at Benfield winning 5-1 with another good away performance. Allotment reshuffled the pack with Jacob Forster playing as a Center forward and Josh Stewart moving into midfield.
It didn't take Forster long to adapt to his new role as on 10 minutes a corner from the left was sung in and Joe Robson headed the ball down into the six yard box for Forster to react first and stab the ball home.
Allotment had other chances to extend the lead with the front three looking lively especially Cockburn .
However Benfield equalised midway through the half to go in at half time 1-1.
The second half was all Allotments with Benfield unable to cope with Allotment's movement and further goals from Cockburn , Thompson ,Benedetti and a penalty from Tshisekedi rounded off a great Boxing Day . So Allotment sit a very respectable Eleventh in the Division One table and will look to climb higher next year.
Allotment's next game is away to Ashington in the Senior Cup on Tuesday night with the prize a home draw against NUFC U23's. Kick off is 7.30 so get yourself along to support the lads.
