The home form hoodoo continued as Allotment failed again at home to Birtley Town to get a win on home soil. The match was a close affair but Birtley had the edge with their finishing and their physicality .
Allotment started brightly enough with Giraud and Beeston having chances. However as so often has been the case the opposition took their chance and scored on 21 minutes. Allotment felt there was a handball on 35 minutes after a free kick was fired in but the ref waived away the claims. Allotment pressed towards the end of the half and Thompson brought out a great save from Gordon to stop an equaliser.
The half ended with allotment probably having the better chances but with Birtley getting the goal.
On 48 minutes Allotment thought they again had a case for a handball but Beeston over stepped the mark and was sin-binned. Allotment forced another great save from Gordon on 72 minutes but just couldn't find the net. Again both teams had chances as the game went on but on 88 minutes Guy Bates was sin-binned .
Allotment must learn to keep their discipline as too many times already this season we have seen us down to ten men when chasing a game.
Our attention turns to Redcar Athletic at home on Saturday , could this be the first home win.
