Report | West Allotment Ladies 10-0 Cullercoats FC Ladies

It was a job well-done for our Ladies team as they cruised to a 10-0 win against Cullercoats to progress to the semi-finals of the County Cup.

The Allotment Ladies were still on a high after their 6-1 win in the previous round away at Cramlington and on the back of a league win against Wallsend Reserves in their last outing.

The free-scoring girls started off in ruthless fashion against Cullercoats and it didn't take long for the deadlock to be broken after just 9 minutes.

Caitlyn Hutchinson took control of the ball and fired a shot towards goal from just outside the box which nestled into the top corner - Allotment off to a flying start.

The lead was doubled four minutes later courtesy of Faye Jardine. A cross came into the box from Hutchinson which was fumbled by the Cullercoats 'keeper and Jardine was there to punish.

Things went from bad to worse for the visitors one minute later. Hannah Dodds added a third as she drove towards goal and blasted the ball past the goalie and into the net.

Daisy Burns was next to add her name to the scoresheet as she continued Allotment's ruthless assault on the Cullercoats' defence. A looping shot from Burns was too much for the 'keeper as it looped just under the bar to add a fourth goal to the scoresheet.

On 32 minutes, Kennedi Baxter made it 5-0. She was rewarded after coming close a couple of times earlier in the game. This time, Baxter made no mistake tapping the ball home at the back-post.

Baxter then turned into the provider five minutes before half-time as she set up Jardine to make it 6-0 - her second goal of the game.

Despite controlling the game, it took Allotment a little bit longer to find their footing in the second half. It wasn't until the 68th minute when the Allotment Ladies added our seventh.

It was Laura Wright, who was among five substitutes to come on in the second half, who added her name to the scoresheet. An excellent corner delivery from Amy Richardson found Wright at the back-post who guided her header into the back of the net.

Seven became eight on 75 minutes as another second half substitute, Megan Hindmarsh, made it 8-0. A well-hit shot was thumped from distance and flew into the top corner leaving the goalkeeper with no chance.

With 10 minutes to go, Daisy Burns made it 9-0 as another long-range effort found its way into the net. The scoring was completed as Laura Wright grabbed her second and our tenth. Perhaps the scrappiest goal of the lot as Wright capitalised on a defensive mix-up and bundled the ball home from inches out.

Our Lineup: Bradley, Curtis (c), Dean, Chrisp, E. Dodds, H. Dodds, Baxter, Jardine, Burns, Hutchinson, Damasceno Martins

Subs used: McConnell (54'), Richardson (46'), Wright (54'), Paul (46'), Hindmarsh (46')
