We now take a break and time to reflect on West Allotment Ladies progress since the beginning of the season . The team are really still finding their feet in the North East Regional Women's League Northern Division having not managed a full yet due to COVID. However so far the fixtures have gone well with only one league and cup defeat so far and the team scoring 57 goals in all competitions and only failing to score in one game. The league table looks very close with about five teams in with a shout of winning it and with Blyth the only unbeaten team so far. The last game before Christmas against Blyth showed that Allotment have what it takes to be up there. Playing around twenty minutes of the game with ten players made it a good exercise in playing counter attacking football and there was very little to choose between the two sides. With some of the current U16 girls team starting to train with the Ladies it looks like the squad will only get stronger. Sadly we have Melisa Robertson who has decided to take some time out from playing but have recently signed Ellie Ford. The team also get to play at Palmerville the new home of WACFC and a game under the floodlights would be great . We have the County Cup semi final against our partner club NUWFC to look forward and this type of game always provides a huge challenge and a steep learning curve. We would also like to thanks our sponsors Wade Financial and First Class Supply who ensure that the girls have everything they need and the VEO camera has proved a great tool with Allotment media man Callum doing a great job promoting both mens and Ladies teams. The players didn't need to pay any subs this season due to our financial support which is great news.
The second half of the season looks to be an exciting one with lots of twists and turns to come hopefully Allotment will still be fighting at the top of the league.
