Saturday was a chance for West Allotment to get their first home win of the season but Guisborough had other ideas and ended up leaving with all three points. The first half was a scrappy affair with the wind making it difficult for either side to play football. Allotment's approach play was not bad but the final ball or shot was not good enough. The first real chance came on 22 minutes when Lowery cut in from the right wing only to see his shot blocked on the six years box.Minutes later Giroud broke through but again the Guisborough defence stood firm. Allotments keeper was then called into action having to make a smart save from a Frazer shot. The half ended all square.
On 55 minutes Guisborough broke and when Errington brought down the player a penalty was awarded . Up stepped Fraser for Guisborough to score. Allotment tried to respond but it was Guisborough who extended the lead on 63 minutes with substitute Kieran beating his man and firing across the keeper for 2-0. Allotment then did build some pressure with Giroud being denied, then in the dying minutes Allotment got the break through as Cal Larmouth smashed the ball home from outside the box. This wasn't enough and Guisborough took all three points. For the first time Allotment were able to provide live updates on local radio station Novia . The station has a great non league show on a Monday night and will provide updates on Saturday's going forward on our games.
Calum Larmouth getting his late goal.
