Match Preview | Billingham Town vs West Allotment Celtic

We travel to Billingham town on Saturday afternoon in fine form after three consecutive wins in the league and 4 wins in our last 5 league games.

A new-found confidence in the squad has seen us climb off the foot of the league table and up to 17th position and still with plenty of games in hand over every team in the league.

In our most recent outing, we prevailed 1-0 in a battling performance against Sunderland RCA. This was just the third time in 24 games this season where RCA have failed to score. It is worth noting that our defensive performances have picked up massively as we have conceded just 3 goals in our last 5 league games.

Our Opponents

Billingham Town sit in 16th position in the Northern League Division One - Just one place ahead of us. They have accumulated 2 more points than us so far this season however, we do have a total of 6 games in hand on our opponents this weekend.

In terms of recent performances, Billingham Town also appear to have seen an upturn in form. They took all 3 points in their game last weekend as they ran out 2-1 winners at home to Northallerton Town.

Billingham also picked up a very well-earned point against table-toppers Consett recently in a 1-1 draw - Connor Rennison was the man who rescued the point with his goal on the stroke of half time.

Head-2-Head

Although past results are sometimes difficult to read into, West Allotment do have the better record in action against Billingham Town.

The two teams have met 20 times in total with Billingham winning 8 of those meetings and Allotment winning 11 times (one draw).

This season, we have met twice in league and cup competition. We travelled to Bedford Terrace in August for the Extra Preliminary Round of the Emirates FA Cup in a game that had everything.

Goals from Regan Paterson, Rui Martins and a late-winner from Dean Walker put us through to the next round in a 3-2 away win - Finn Hodgson also produced a magnificent penalty save which was pivitol for our progression.

We also met at Palmersville last month where we prevailed with a 2-1 win as goals from Callum Larmouth and Regan Paterson saw us take all 3 points.

Team News

Due to picking up red cards in our 1-0 away win at Newton Aycliffe last Saturday, both Callum Larmouth and Rui Martins will be suspended for this game.
