Looking forward To Tonight's Match

Tow Law Town vs West Allotment Celtic Pre-Match Report

Five-star Celtic put five goals past Washington on Saturday to make it, a very impressive, five league wins in a row. They have now proven that they are more than capable of fighting for promotion against, just like last season, and will now be looking to make it six wins in a row against another promotion hopeful in Tow Law Town.

Celtic were in top form on Saturday, pulling off a very convincing 5-1 win against Washington. After a relatively quiet start to the match, the deadlock was broken in the 27th minute. A penalty was awarded after a push was spotted on Walker following a corner kick into the box. Hayton stepped up and just managed to put the ball into the net underneath the Washington keeper. It did not take long for the second goal to come as an excellent passing move ended in Walker finishing well in the 31st minute. Just before half time the game was all but finished after 2 quickfire goals from West Allotment. In the 44 minute, a counterattack following a Washington corner led to Michael Baxter pulling away down the right and cutting in before slotting the ball into the net to put the home side 3-0 up. However, this was not the last action of the half as another penalty was awarded after Forster was fouled in the box in stoppage time just before the half time whistle. Hayton stepped up and missed his penalty. Fortunately for the striker, the ball was parried straight back into his path and he was able to end up placing the ball into the back of the net anyway to complete a perfect half of football for West Allotment. The second half started in the same manner of the first half with the home team scoring only five minutes after the replay in the 50th minute. Another brilliant counterattacking move saw left back; Luke Parkinson have a free run at the Washington goal. He stayed calm and drilled a shot low past the helpless Washington keeper. Not many chances came after this in the second half as the home side made quite a few changes to the side and seemed to take their foot off the gas. The visitors did manage to grab themselves a consolation goal in the 89th minute however, with Alex Dobinson scoring one of the away sides very few chances of the afternoon. In the end, Celtic will have been delighted with their performance and will go into their game against Tow Law Town with their confidence as high as ever on this excellent winning run.

Tuesday nights game is West Allotments toughest league fixture they will have faced in a while with the hosts currently sitting third in the league at the moment after a good start to their season. Celtic are breathing right down their neck however, siting in fifth place with 3 games in hand on their opponents. West Allotment could go as high as second place with a win on Tuesday night, overtaking their opponents in the process. However, a loss could see the away side fall as low as eighth if results do not go their way in other games. A loss would also see Tow Law pull 4 points ahead of Celtic and make catching up with their points tally a much harder task to achieve.

Tow Law picked up a 1-0 home win at the weekend against a struggling Willington side. The only goal of the game came in the 24th minute as Michael Brown scored for the home side. Tow Law were also awarded a penalty earlier in the game, on the 16-minute mark, but Barrie Smith failed to convert from the spot. This result meant that Tow Law are now on a three-game win streak, and also a 5-game unbeaten streak in the league. Very impressive form for the side who have found themselves now sitting third in the league, and they will certainly be looking to continue this streak when Celtic visit on Tuesday night.

The last time these two sides faced one another was back on the 26th October 2019 with Celtic grabbing a 1-0 home win against Tow Law. The away side would definitely take a another 1-0 win on Tuesday night if they were offered it as the only thing that will matter come the end of the match will be the result and if it has helped Celtic climb any further up the league table. The game will be far from easy for West Allotment as they face another side in excellent form but somebodies winning run must come to an end on Tuesday night and Celtic will be doing everything they can to make sure it is not them.
