After a torrid season with a lack of players and no goalkeeper the Allotment ladies put up a great fight to defeat higher league Blyth Town ladies and book there place in the County Cup Final to be played on the 21st of April at Whitley Park at 7pm. Awaiting them is Newcastle United Development who will be massive favourites to lift the cup . However for Allotment its going to be a great occasion and experience in front of what will be a large crowd. Six of Allotments current squad have won a county cup before when they defeated Wallsend Res when both teams were in the County League.
In the meantime the team still have quite a number of league games and hope to try and finish third from bottom which looked impossible before Christmas. The addition of Mia Tierney-Tomlinson in goal has made a big difference and being able to field 11 players each week. The squad had kept going and stuck together still training twice week and its a great reward to be in a cup final whatever may happen on the night.
The clips below show our two goals from Sunday.
