Disappointing Start

West Allotment Ladies got their season off to a losing start against Heaton Hawks on Sunday. Allotment are still without a keeper which has been a long standing problem. In the first half Allotment felt they controlled most of the game and took the lead on 15 minutes with a looping shot from Jess Milne.

However in the second half Heaton became the dominant force scoring from a long range shot that just crept in under the cross bar leaving Megan Hindmarsh stranded in the Allotment goal. The Allotment keeper pulled off a number of good saves to stop Heaton increasing the lead. Emily Dodds was trying to make things happen by driving forward but it was Heaton who scored from a low cross in from a corner to take all three points.

Allotment now need to pick themselves up and go to Horden on Sunday in the FA Cup.
