West Allotment made it a triple away derby win this season defeating North Shields 2-0. This season Allotment have beaten Whiltey Bay 6-0 , Benfield 5-1 and now Shields 2-0 on their away travels.
The old saying a game of two halves was very apt for last night on a heavy pitch in damp conditions. Allotment started the brighter but for most of the half it was Shields who had the better of the play.
Cai Pritchard was particularly causing problems for the Allotment defence and had a number of chances to give Shields the lead however Dan Gladstone was in excellent form to keep out anything that Shields could throw at him.
The half time team talk by Jay Bates definitely got Allotment more focused and on sixty -six minutes Allotment broke the deadlock with a lovely goal . Mickel Thompson received the ball on the left wing and jinked past two players to pull a low cross back for Kyle Cockburn to sweep the ball home . Allotment had several chances to add to their lead with Giraud having two one versus one with the Shields keeper but he just couldn't score. Allotment brought on Lucas Matundo for Cockburn on eight-six minutes and it was he who broke away after Giraud won the ball from Coppen to secure the points in stoppage time.
Clips show both goals from last night.
Allotment now move on to a home game against Sunderland RCA at home on Saturday.
